LEGO takes over the world
An
example of digital marketing: is LEGO.
It is
a great example of a digital marketing campaign because it speaks volumes about
the brand. LEGO tackled a big global problem with this campaign by connecting
with its target audience.
Nowadays,
it's increasingly important for companies to tackle global issues to show they
are connected to their customers. An important part of the campaign was sharing
the brand's story and message.
Given
that 82% of customers buy products from brands that share the same values, this
was a great initiative for the toy brand.
Dove's reverse selfie campaign.
An
example of digital marketing.
As
Dove continued to study the impact of social media on children, especially
boys, the company decided to send a message: the "Reverse Selfie"
campaign showed the opposite of young men taking selfies and editing photos.
This campaign aims to raise awareness of the negative impact of social media on
self-esteem.
It is
a great example of what content marketing can look like when you understand
your target audience. By understanding its target audience of real women, many
of whom are parents, Dove highlighted the often overlooked impact of social
media.
Jennifer Lopez's #InTheMorning Challenge
As
part of the social media campaign, Jennifer Lopez held a dance contest to
promote her new song. As part of the contest, fans had to perform the same
dance in pajamas or different outfits.
The
video received over 16 million views and over 5,000 posts, making it a
successful social media campaign.
Social
media is a great way to engage your audience and connect with your brand
personally.
4. The always #DayftheGirl campaign
In
this campaign, I always asked their employees what advice they would give to a
girl. They gave valuable advice to inspire Always on International Women's Day,
an international holiday celebrated each year in October.
Again,
this is not an overly product-related campaign, but that's not the point. The
goal of this digital campaign was to inspire the general public. This message
reached a wider audience, increased brand awareness, and showed its audience
that the brand aligned with its values.
Let's
look at some examples of different types of digital marketing.
5. Topics - email marketing
Skincare
Topicals uses email marketing as part of its Digital Marketing strategy. The image
below shows an email marketing campaign promoting a "sign up and
save" offer, which offers a 20% discount on repeat orders if you sign up.

6. Ashley White - affiliate
marketing
Ashley
White is a beautician who uses affiliate marketing. She links to her personal Link
tree page onher Twitter account and shares referral codes and discounts for
buyers who use her codes and links.
Digital marketing example: affiliate marketing skinclasshero
Since Link tree visitors are inspired to try new brands (and even more inspired when recommended by an influencer), promoting yourself as an ambassador for these companies can increase brand awareness.
7. samsonite - search engine
marketing
Search
engine marketing is a good example of digital marketing, where brands bid on
keywords and display product ads in search results when someone searches for a
relevant keyword.
Here's
an example from Samsonite. A search on the word "suitcase" will show
many suitcases from well-known brands that have created ads to place their
products at the top of the search results.

8. Sim Williamsburg - sponsored advertising
Sim
Williamsburg used native advertising on her Instagram feed to advertise a paid
sponsorship with a local Brooklyn business. The scroll was tagged as a paid
collaboration but appeared organically in users' feeds as a regular post. The
ad also fits Yes Williams burg’s consistent content of sharing information
about unique local businesses that people can experience firsthand.
HubSpot
Blog - Content Offers
Content
offers are a form of digital marketing in which businesses share useful content
that they think will be helpful to website visitors. HubSpot's blog, for
example, often features content offers and tutorials that can be used to learn
more about the blog's topics.

Libraries
to Remember: Search Engine Optimization for Local Businesses
One Search Engine Optimization strategy for many local businesses is to optimize
their Google My Business profile to appear in local search results when people
search for a product or service related to their business.
In the
case of Keeps Bookstore, a local bookstore located in Atlanta, Georgia, the
Google My Business profile was optimized to appear in local search results for
the query "Atlanta bookstore."
